BIS Certification for Aluminium Alloy Tube for Irrigation Purpose - Extruded Tube under IS 7092 (Part-2)

GET ISI, BIS CERTIFICATION FOR ALUMINIUM ALLOY TUBE FOR IRRIGATION PURPOSE – EXTRUDED TUBE IS 7092 (PART 2) : 1987

Aluminium irrigation tubes are the ideal piece of metal with multiple uses covering many fields. The anti-corrosion component of aluminium irrigation tube makes them ideal for outdoor areas where other metals would otherwise be rusty when used.

Aluminum alloy is soft and usually alloyed with copper, zinc, magnesium, silicon, manganese and lithium to increase strength. When aluminum alloy is exposed to air, an anti-oxidant coating will be formed instantly to protect products. Portable aluminum irrigation pipe actually is manufactured of an alloy- aluminum plus a small amount of some alloying element such as copper, zinc, magnesium, manganese, silicon-to pro- duce pipe with a higher tensile strength and greater rigidity than pipe made of pure aluminum.

The extrusion process shapes aluminium by heating a billet and forcing it through a shaped opening in a die, producing up to five kilometers of extruded products from one aluminium billet. After emerging from the extrusion process with the same shape as the die opening, the tubes are coiled. According to the product specification coatings like zinc, Hycot and flux can be applied, increasing the tubes performance.

Extruded tubes are manufactured with high precision and extremely low tolerance to meet the customer’s specific requirements.

BIS is a statutory institution established under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act,1986  to promote harmonious development of the activities of standardization, marking and quality certification of goods and attending to connected matters in the country.

Aluminium alloy tube for irrigation purposes – Extruded Tube product has been specified in IS 7092(Part 2) : 1987 by Bureau of Indian Standards.

This standard (Part 2) covers the requirement of extruded aluminium alloy tubes used for irrigation purposes and suitable for a maximum working pressure of 1000 kN/m2 (10kgf/cm2) for diameters up to and including 200 mm
