GET BIS CERTIFICATION FOR BITUMEN DRUMS IS 3575:1993

 

BIS is a statutory institution established under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act,1986  to promote harmonious development of the activities of standardization, marking and quality certification of goods and attending to connected matters in the country.

Bitumen Drums product has been specified in IS 3575:1993 by Bureau of Indian Standards.

GROUPING GUIDELINES :

(i)           Drums with nominal capacity 160 liters or 200 liters may be drawn for testing to cover both the capacities.

(ii)         The scope of license may be restricted based on the Manufacturing and Testing capabilities of the manufacturer.

(iii)        During the operation of the Licence, BO shall ensure that all the sizes covered in the Licence are tested in rotation, to the extent possible.

SCOPE :

This standard covers the requirements of steel drums, with fixed ends of nominal capacities 160 litres and 200 litres, used for packing of bitumen having penetration value 225 and below.
