Flexible Steel Conduit, steel tubing is installed with threaded fittings.

It is typically used outdoors to provide protection from damage and can also provide structural support for electrical cables, panels, and other equipment.

 

Materials used to manufacture conduit include metal, fiber or plastic. electrical conduit fittings and liquid-tight jackets protect the wiring from stress, strain, corrosion, heat and moisture.

1.1 This standard specifies the requirements for flexible steel conduits intended for the protection of cables in electrical installation.

IS 1653 : 1964 Rigid steel conduits for electrical wiring

IS 2509 : 1963 Rigid non-metallic conduits for electrical installations

·       Bend Fracture Test as per Cl 8.6
