GET BIS CERTIFICATION FOR JUTE GEOTEXTILES - CONTROL OF BANK EROSION IN RIVERS AND WATERWAYS  IS 14715 (Part 2):2016

 

 

Jute geotextiles are a category of products that are used extensively in road construction, to reinforce river banks, and to stabilize agricultural slopes. Economical and easy to produce, jute geotextiles have high initial strength, are highly absorbent, and can be customized to suit specific requirements.

 

BIS is a statutory institution established under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act,1986  to promote harmonious development of the activities of standardization, marking and quality certification of goods and attending to connected matters in the country.

Jute geotextiles - Control of bank erosion in rivers and waterways product has been specified in IS 14715 (Part 2):2016 by Bureau of Indian Standards.

SCOPE :

This standard (Part 2) provides requirements of woven jute geotextile (JGT) in control of erosion in rivers and waterways.

The standards listed in Annex A contain provisions which, through reference in this text constitute provision of this standard. At the time of publication, the editions indicated were valid. All standards are subject to revision, and parties to agreements based on this standard are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the standards indicated in Annex A.

 

RAW MATERIALS :

Woven JGT (Jute Geotextile) possessing tensile strength of 20 kN/m (considering hydraulic load and installation stresses)

 

TESTING PARAMETERS :

 

·       Construction

·       Weight at 20 percent moisture regain

·       Width

·       Thickness at 2kPa

·       Tensile Strength

·       Elongation at Break

·       Puncture Resistance

·       Burst Strength

·       Permittivity at 50mm constant head

 

POSSIBLE TESTS IN A DAY :

 

All tests except Average Opening Size (A.O.S), O95
