GET BIS CERTIFICATION FOR LANDING VALVES IS 5290:1993

The name 'Landing valves' were used to describe valves for fire fighting provided on Risers in buildings, as these were typically located in staircase landings to allow easy access to Fire fighters. Hence, the name 'Landing valve' came to be associated with these types of valves in buildings.

BIS is a statutory institution established under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act,1986  to promote harmonious development of the activities of standardization, marking and quality certification of goods and attending to connected matters in the country.

Landing valves product has been specified in IS 5290:1993 by Bureau of Indian Standards.

SCOPE :

This standard lays down the requirements regarding materials, shape, dimensions, and performance requirements of two types of landing valves.
