IS 6913:1973

 

Stainless steel pipe is primarily used in piping systems for the transport of fluids or gases. We manufacture steel pipe from a steel alloy containing nickel as well as chromium, which give stainless steel its corrosion-resistant properties.

 

BIS is a statutory institution established under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act,1986  to promote harmonious development of the activities of standardization, marking and quality certification of goods and attending to connected matters in the country.

Stainless steel tubes for the food and beverage industry product has been specified in IS 6913:1973 by Bureau of Indian Standards.

SCOPE :

·       This standard covers tie requirements for welded and seamless stainless steel tubes for the food and beverage industry.

IS 1387 : 1967 General requirements for the supply of metallurgical materials

IS 1894 : 1972  Method for tensile testing of steel tubes

IS 3073 : 1967  Assessment of surface roughness
