GET BIS CERTIFICATION FOR UNPLASTICIZED POLYVINYL CHLORIDE (PVC-U) PIPES FOR SOIL AND WASTE DISCHARGE SYSTEM FOR INSIDE AND OUTSIDE BUILDINGS INCLUDING VENTILATION AND RAIN WATER SYSTEM IS 13592:2013

PVC-U is short for Unplasticized PVC, meaning no plasticizer has been added to the PVC compound. Unplasticized PVC is also known as rigid PVC.

PVC-U is the most common PVC type for pipes and fittings including transportation of drinking water, soil and waste, sewage and underground drainage and other industrial applications.

Pipes and fittings made of PVC-U have many benefits. They are a safe choice for various industrial applications, light and easy to handle and affordable.

Technical properties include high mechanical performance, high durability (at least 100 years for underground pipes), high chemical resistance and resistance to UV exposure. Moreover, PVC-U pipes have favorable environmental profiles and are 100% recyclable.

BIS is a statutory institution established under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act,1986  to promote harmonious development of the activities of standardization, marking and quality certification of goods and attending to connected matters in the country.

Unplasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U) pipes for soil and waste discharge system for inside and outside buildings including ventilation and rain water system product has been specified in IS 13592:2013 by Bureau of Indian Standards.

SCOPE :

This standard covers requirements for plain and socket end unplasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U) pipes with nominal outside diameters 40 mm to 315 mm for use for soil and waste discharge system inside and outside buildings including ventilation, rain water and rain water harvesting applications.
