BIS Certification for White Cement Based Polymeric Putty under IS 17545:2021

White Cement Based Polymer Putty is a white cement based wall finishing putty which offers total protection against flaking. Polymers are added to wall care putty to Improve the water retention of the putty and increase the opening time.

It is famously used for interior and exterior walls. It is made using special additives and fillers to multitask as a putty, sealer, and filler over plaster or concrete walls. White cement, minerals, and polymers are mixed together to form a white cement based wall putty.

It is waterproof and provides a protective base for your precious colors. It has more adhesion providing surface. It can even be applied to a freshly plastered wall, saving time and money.

During repainting, the surface produced by White Cement based Polymeric Putty requires minimal scrubbing, thus eliminating the dust mess that is a health hazard, especially for asthmatics. It fills the fine pores of walls and ceilings and provides a white, smooth and dry surface for painting. It can also be applied to wet surfaces (interior/exterior).

BIS is a statutory institution established under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act,1986  to promote harmonious development of the activities of standardization, marking and quality certification of goods and attending to connected matters in the country.

White Cement based Polymeric Putty product has been specified in IS 17545:2021 by Bureau of Indian Standards. This standard prescribes the requirements, methods of sampling and test for white cement based polymeric putty for use as a finished skim coat on internal or external plastered surfaces.

• It is use in homes, offices, bungalows, farmhouses, stadiums, shopping malls, educational institutes, airports, railway stations, theatres, exhibition halls, flyover walls etc.

BIS Certification in India

BIS Certification/ISI Certification is basically quality certification which reflects quality of the product. All mandatory products required to be certified by BIS before selling to the Indian market but before applying to the BIS Certification applicant have to ensure that they have achieved the product quality norms as per the requirement of relevant Indian Standard.

Applicants have to set up the lab (Complete testing facility) in their factory premises. Once everything is ready then we need to submit the application along with complete testing facility details with calibration and other supporting documents in Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS).

After the scrutiny of documents BIS officer will visit the factory to check in-house testing facilities and manufacturing machineries according to process flow chart. During the inspection the manufacturer has to offer a sample lot and after the successful completion the Inspection BIS officer will seal the sample for testing in the independent lab.

After the satisfactory report received from the lab, BIS will issue the license.
