We are delighted to announce that, the ERCS team has successfully concluded a BIS audit for our foreign client in Italy for their product " Aluminium and Aluminium Alloy (Hollow and Solid)" following IS 1285 and IS 733 and the FMCS scheme. Consequently, the Bureau of Indian Standards has issued a BIS license for  Aluminium and Aluminium Alloy (Hollow and Solid) as per IS 1285 and IS 733.

What is BIS?

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is a standard-setting institution in India that comes under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution of the Government of India. The main operations of this national standard body include product standardization, certification, and testing.

FMCS Scheme 

The FMCS Scheme was established by the BIS Act of 2016 and the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations of 2018. It grants a BIS license to a product manufactured by a foreign manufacturer. The license is provided for goods that meet the appropriate Indian Standards.

IS 733 covers specifications, sampling techniques, and testing procedures for   Wrought Aluminium and Aluminium Alloy Bars, Rods, and Sections (For General Engineering Purposes)

IS 1285 covers the specifications, sampling technique, and testing procedures for   Wrought Aluminium and Aluminium Alloys- Extruded Round Tube and Hollow Sections for General Engineering Purposes

For BIS certification of the product, the producer must manufacture a standard quality product that meets the given Indian Standard Specifications (ISS). BIS officials' interpretations are in line with Indian standards.
