As a result, the Bureau of Indian Standards has awarded a BIS License for Aluminum foil in accordance with IS 15392.
What is BIS?
The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is India's national standards body, functioning under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution, Government of India. BIS specializes in product standardization, certification, and testing.
ISI Scheme
Under this program, the licensee (maker) is required to use or apply a Standard ISI Mark certification provided by the Bureau of Indian Standards for items created on manufacturing premises that meet all of the requirements of the applicable Indian Standard(s).
Audited Products :
IS 15392 covers Aluminum foil. This standard specifies the specifications, sampling method, and test for Aluminum foil used for general applications. Foil packaging materials provide good barrier characteristics, helping to protect the product from moisture, light, and oxygen.
Suggestions to Manufacturers :
To achieve BIS certification and produce a standard quality product, the producer must verify that their product meets the stated Indian Standard Specifications (ISS), which we have directly interpreted to you from BIS authorities in accordance with Indian Standards.
All producers must get a BIS license from the Bureau of Indian Standards in order to sell their products in India and use the standard ISI mark.
ERCS Pvt. Ltd. has established a large network within the industry and many BIS departments to aid in assuring the conformance of the product Aluminium Foil to IS 15392.
About BIS Auditing Process :
