We are pleased to inform you that the ERCS team has completed another BIS Audit for our foreign customer in Germany for their product "Cold Reduced Electrolytic Tinplate or Chromium" by IS 1993 and IS 12591 under the FMCS License. As a result, the Bureau of Indian Standards has given a BIS license for Cold Reduced Electrolytic Tinplate or Chromium in accordance with IS 1993 and IS 12591
What is BIS?
The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is India's national standards body, functioning under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution, Government of India. BIS specializes in product standardization, certification, and testing.
FMCS Scheme
The BIS Act of 2016 and the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations of 2018 establish the BIS Certification for Foreign Manufacturer, which grants a BIS license to a foreign manufacturer. The license is awarded for items that meet relevant Indian Standards.
Audited Products :
IS 1993 covers cold reduced electrolytic tinplate. This standard (Part 1) specifies the specifications, sample technique, and test procedures for Cold Reduced Electrolytic Tinplate. Its corrosion resistance and durability make it ideal for packaging food and drinks, electrical components, and ornamental applications.
IS 12591 covers cold-reduced tinmill products containing electrolytic chromium or chromium oxide and coated steel. This standard (Part 1) specifies the specifications, sample technique, and test for Cold-Reduced Tinmill Products — Electrolytic Chromium/Chromium Oxide — Coated Steel intended for general use.
Suggestions to Manufacturers :
To obtain BIS certification and manufacture a standard quality product, the producer must ensure that their product fulfills the mentioned Indian Standard Specifications (ISS), which we have directly interpreted from BIS officials in compliance with Indian Standards.
To sell their products in India, all producers must get a BIS license from the Bureau of Indian Standards and use the standard ISI mark. ERCS Pvt. - Seal samples for independent testing at a BIS-recognized laboratory.
4. Whether the company has the capacity to comply with the legislative and regulatory obligations; such as—
