BIS Audit Of Safety Glass For Road And Transport As Per IS 2553 Under FMCS In Turkey
We are glad to inform that the ERCS team has successfully completed another BIS audit for our customer in Turkey for their product "Safety Glass" in accordance with IS 2553: Part 1 of the FMCS Scheme. As a result, the Bureau of Indian Standards has awarded a BIS license for safety glass in accordance with IS 2553.
What is BIS?
The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is India's national standards body, functioning under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution, Government of India. BIS specializes in product standardization, certification, and testing.
Foreign Manufacturer Certification Scheme
The BIS Act of 2016 and the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations of 2018 establish the FMCS system, which grants a BIS license for foreign manufacturer. The license is awarded for items that meet relevant Indian Standards.
Audited covers safety glass Products :
IS 2553 covers safety glass. This standard (Part 1) specifies the standards, sample technique, and test for general-purpose safety glass, such as those used in automotive windscreens, backlights, side window panes, and so on.
Safety glass must be produced from 'AA' and 'A' quality flat transparent sheet glass that satisfies the specifications of IS 2835: 1987.
Suggestions to Manufacturers :
To achieve BIS certification and produce a standard quality product, the producer must verify that their product meets the stated Indian Standard Specifications (ISS), which we have directly interpreted to you from BIS authorities in accordance with Indian Standards.
All producers must get a BIS license from the Bureau of Indian Standards in order to sell their products in India and use the standard ISI mark.

About BIS Auditing Process :
