The BIS has launched a new app named BIS-Care for people who want to verify the hallmark and ISI quality of products. This helps to reduce the risk to consumers, supporting exports and import substitutes. This app was launched by the Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan. Through the BIS-Care app, consumers can file their complaints against ISI-marked products, BIS-certified products, and BIS services.
The BIS Care Application is a mobile application created and operated by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). Started in the year 2020 by Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution Sh. Ram Vilas Paswan. This is a mobile application that helps consumers to verify the authenticity of products based on BIS marks such as the SI mark, Hallmark mark, and CRS registration mark.
You can use this app to register a complaint about the quality of a product and if someone has misused the BIS marks by using the ‘Complaints’ option. This provides an opportunity to consumers, based on their perspective, to verify the authenticity of products based on BIS certification marks. The app allows you to get locations of BIS labs and offices and helps you access products under compulsory certification of BIS and simplifies the procedure of licensing.
Consumers can use the BIS care mobile app to authenticate products bearing BIS marks, including the ISI mark, hallmark, or the CRS registration mark. Currently, the BIS care app is available for Android users on the Play Store and Apple Store for iOS users.

Step 1: Go to Google Play/App Store and download the BIS Care App.
Step 2: Once downloaded, open the app. Log in to the app with your name, mobile number, and optional email address.
Step 3: You can log in through your registered mobile no. via OTP.
Step 4: Now enter the license number/registration number/HUID number found on the product.
Step 5: For Hallmark jewellery, enter the HUID (Hallmark Unique Identification) number.
Step 6: Verify the authenticity of electronic products.
