• IS 14697 cover AC static transformer operated watt-hour and VAR-hour meters, class 0.2S & 0.5S. This standard specifies static watthour meters of accuracy class 0.2 S, 0.5 S and var-hour meters of accuracy class 0.2 S, 0.5 S and 1 S for the measurement of alternating current electrical active and reactive energy of frequency in the range of 45 Hz to 55 Hz for single phase and three phase balanced and unbalanced loads. It applies to their type tests, routine tests and acceptance tests. It applies only to transformer operated static watthour meters consisting of measuring element(s)and register(s) enclosed together in the meter case. It also applies to operation indicator(s) and test output(s).It also applies to multi rate tariff meters and meters which measure energy in both directions.
