The Bureau of Indian Standards has announced a Quality Control Order for general service regarding flat woven webbing slings made of man-made fibers. Let's understand the reason for the issuance of Quality Control Orders (QCOs).

Exemptions: This order does not apply to the articles and goods meant for export.
3. Standards Compliance:
The product mentioned in this order must comply with the corresponding Indian Standard IS 15041:2001 and bear the Standard Mark under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards under Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
4. Certification and Enforcement:
The Bureau of Indian Standards is regarded as the institution in charge of certifying and enforcing quality standards for rope and cordage goods. Breach of this order shall result in the punishment specified in the applicable Act.
Note: For the purposes of the Schedule, it is clarified that the most recent version of Indian Standards established and published by the Bureau of Indian Standards from time to time under the provisions of clause (17) of section 2 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of 2016), shall take effect from the date of such publication.
